The Clinton Red Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 57-13 victory over Columbia on the road. Given Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while Columbia is ranked 270th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Clinton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ry'Daijia Mars out in front who scored 11 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakalia Redd, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Clinton is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Columbia, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clinton will challenge Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia, they will head out on the road to face off against Strom Thurmond at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
