It was a good run, but the Rauner Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 63-39 walloping at the hands of Butler. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rauner in their matchups with Butler: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Danny Bennett, who scored 20 points for Butler. Bennett hasn't dropped below 15 points for 17 straight games. Another player making a difference was Dwayne Haliburton, who scored ten points.
Rauner's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Butler, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-14 record this season.
Rauner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Butler, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-58 defeat vs. Hansberry on the 8th.
