Germantown is 0-8 against the Tigers since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Germantown Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Arlington Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Germantown will be strutting in after a victory while the Tigers will be coming in after a defeat.
Germantown was handed a 45-point defeat in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against the Wildcats on Thursday. Germantown came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wildcats and snuck past 50-48. The victory was just what Germantown needed coming off of a 69-24 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Arlington was beaten by the Panthers 65-25 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Arlington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 204th, while the Panthers are ranked 17th).
Germantown's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Arlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Things could have been worse for Germantown, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-32 loss to the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Arlington's Zaria Moss, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Now that Germantown knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
