The Superior Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. The game between them and Joseph City wasn't particularly close, with Superior falling 62-46. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Superior in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Vasquez, who scored 12 points. Adam Sandoval was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Joseph City was led to victory by Eli James and Cort Miller. James scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals, while Miller scored 17 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Miller hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Landon Miller, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Superior has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Joseph City, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-7.
Superior will head out on the road to challenge the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Joseph City, they will be playing at home against the Apaches at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fort Thomas focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
