If the Union County Patriots were feeling good off their 45-22 takedown of the Blue River Valley Vikings last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Union County took a hard 42-24 fall against Connersville on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Union County has scored all season.
Connersville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hailey Sembach led the charge by scoring nine points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Ahniyah Bennett was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Union County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Connersville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Union County will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern Hancock will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive. Connersville will take on Richmond at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
