Wallace is 0-4 against Troy since October of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Miners will face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Troy will be up against a hot Wallace team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Miners breezed past St. John-Endicott to the tune of 66-6 on Friday. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Miners had established a 54-point advantage.

Wallace found their leader in sophomore Cooper Miller, who rushed for 123 yards and two scores, and also threw for 252 yards and four TDs while completing 89.5% of his passes. Miller is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Wallace also got a significant boost from Ashton Holbert, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 89 yards.
Wallace was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 311 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 253 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Wallace's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB 3.5 times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Henry Larson, Marley Pearce, and Bronson Basham, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in St. John-Endicott's side was Pearce, who picked up a sack and made 11 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Troy, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Lakeside 70-12. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wallace better keep an eye on Payton Christensen. He was instrumental in Troy's win, rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown, while also throwing for 84 yards and three TDs. Another player making a difference was Hinder Hurst, who rushed for 86 yards and one score.
Troy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Christensen.
Wallace's record now sits at 4-0. As for Troy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Wallace was dealt a bruising 54-0 loss at the hands of Troy when the teams last played back in August of 2019. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
