East Central HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lightning apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
When it comes to explaining why East Central HomeSchool lost, one person who can't be blamed is Micah Coalson. Despite the final result, she scored 32 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 68.1% of East Central HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Nelson, who scored ten points along with five steals.
East Central HomeSchool struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Evangel Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hallie Wells, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Hannah Benson, who scored 13 points.
East Central HomeSchool's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3. As for Evangel Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
East Central HomeSchool will head out on the road to take on the Lightning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Evangel Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Knights at 6:00 p.m.
