The Seaman Vikings will square off against the De Soto Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Seaman fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past Washington 62-12 on the road.
Seaman's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Max Huston, who threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, and Samson Tootle, who rushed for 92 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries. Noah Kobuszewski also helped out with an impressive 103 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, De Soto had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Turner 57-6 at home. Given De Soto's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Turner is ranked 189th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
De Soto got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jackson Whiddon out in front who threw for 43 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Jayden Lang was another key contributor, gaining 72 total yards and two touchdowns.
Seaman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for De Soto, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1.
