Clearwater Central Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nasir Hutchinson, who rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Khayse Barrett, who threw for 60 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Seffner Christian to a paltry 84 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Clearwater Central Catholic's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out three times before it was all said and done. Keo Jenkins was especially locked on to Seffner Christian's QB and sacked him twice.
Clearwater Central Catholic's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 25.83 points. As for Seffner Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Clearwater Central Catholic will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal Gibbons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Gibbons has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 181 points over their last four matches. Seffner Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
