The Penn Cambria Panthers will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Cambria Red Devils at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Penn Cambria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
Penn Cambria can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game. Everything went their way against Bishop McCort as Penn Cambria made off with a 72-49 victory. The win was just what Penn Cambria needed coming off of a 66-37 defeat in their prior contest.
Penn Cambria got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brandon Rabish out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Gavin Harrold, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Central Cambria ended up a good deal behind Westmont Hilltop on Monday and lost 55-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central Cambria has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Connor Serenko, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Snyder, who scored 16 points.
The victory got Penn Cambria back to even at 3-3. As for Central Cambria, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Thursday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Penn Cambria have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 28.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Central Cambria struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 22.1 rebounds per game. Given Penn Cambria's sizeable advantage in that area, Central Cambria will need to find a way to close that gap.
Penn Cambria was able to grind out a solid win over Central Cambria in their previous matchup on December 2nd, winning 64-53. Does Penn Cambria have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Cambria turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
