Saint Jo is 2-7 against Perrin-Whitt since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Pirates at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Saint Jo took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Bellevue 12-2. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 20-2).
Saint Jo got a massive performance out of Maverick Childers, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Lee Yeley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Perrin-Whitt waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cowboys a 16-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Cole Keeney made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Keeney was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Travis Welch was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four runs and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Noah Morris, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Saint Jo's record is now 4-7-1. As for Perrin-Whitt, their record now sits at 7-1.
Saint Jo suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Perrin-Whitt in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
