The Navarre Raiders will venture away from home to challenge the Horizon Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Navarre is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Navarre is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand South Lake a 4-0 shutout.
The result came thanks to Kayden Riddle's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Renee Hester, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.
Meanwhile, Horizon had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past Tate 8-6.
Mackenzie Duncan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Duncan was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Duncan wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Morgyn Welch, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Brooke Grafton was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Navarre's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-9. As for Horizon, their record now sits at 21-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Navarre has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Horizon struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
