The Peoria Heights Patriots won the last time they faced the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats, and things went their way on Monday too. Peoria Heights snuck past the Wildcats with a 53-48 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Peoria Heights.
Nyaja Russell was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Rianna Foster, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and six blocks.
Peoria Heights' win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Cuba/Spoon River Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peoria Heights will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mallards at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. Cuba/Spoon River Valley will take on the Ducks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
