The Dunellen Destroyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell just short of Roselle Park by a score of 43-40. The game was a 19-19 toss-up at halftime, but Dunellen was outscored by Roselle Park in the second.
Dunellen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Hutchins, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Vibert Reynolds, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Dunellen's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Roselle Park, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Dunellen will head out on the road to face off against South Amboy at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roselle Park won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Governor Livingston at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th.
