The North Saxons will challenge the Carson Colts at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (North 3.9, Carson 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
North is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest win since February 21st on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Beckman 7-5.
Kloie Iboy spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Corina Alvillar was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Marshall, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
North was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Carson, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They never let San Pedro get on the board and left with a 10-0 win last Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Isabella Campos tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Ashannalee Titialii was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Atiana Rodriguez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Carson pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for North, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.
Both North and Carson just can't seem to miss. The Saxons have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Carson struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North couldn't quite get it done against Carson in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 as they fell 5-0. Will the Saxons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
