The Las Lomas Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 84-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Northgate. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (68), Las Lomas still had to take the loss.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Devinney, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Devinney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Julian Vaucher, who scored 13 points along with two blocks.
Daniel Louie was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Roland Anderson, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Las Lomas' loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-9. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Northgate, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.
Las Lomas will head out on the road to challenge Clayton Valley Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Clayton Valley Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Las Lomas in California (Clayton Valley Charter is ranked 77th, while Las Lomas is ranked 278th). As for Northgate, they will take on California at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: DANE WALLACE and Jake Andjus.
