Basketball Recap: Saluda Skates Past Ware Shoals with Ease

While Saluda didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Ware Shoals Hornets, posting a 64-30 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Ware Shoals' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyrell Cunningham, who posted 13 points. That's the most points Cunningham has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Medlin, who earned 11 points and five rebounds.

Saluda's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Ware Shoals, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saluda will face off against McCormick at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Ware Shoals, they will challenge Thornwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ware Shoals is facing Thornwell at the right time seeing as Thornwell is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
