The Southeastern Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 56-8 loss at the hands of Unioto. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeastern in their matchups with Unioto: they've now lost four in a row.
Newton Hoops continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Unioto, throwing for 262 yards and six touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Blake Hoops, who picked up 89 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Southeastern's loss was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.4 points per game. As for Unioto, the win was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Southeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Unioto will be playing at home against Urbana at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Urbana is ranked 246th, while Unioto is ranked 239th).
