After a string of three wins, the Trinity Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 39-31 to Cuyahoga Heights. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Trinity of the 44-32 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the defeat, Trinity saw an underclassman step up: Jaila Wiggins almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Iniya Charlton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Trinity's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Cuyahoga Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.
Trinity will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brookfield at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. As for Cuyahoga Heights, they will head out on the road to square off against Chagrin Falls at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Chagrin Falls is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Cuyahoga Heights a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
