Lakeside is 5-0 against Arkadelphia since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Lakeside Rams will be home for the holidays to greet the Arkadelphia Badgers at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lakeside entered their tilt with Hot Springs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lakeside came out on top against Hot Springs by a score of 60-51 on Friday.
Lakeside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ava Allison led the charge by scoring 17 points. That's the first time this season that Allison scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amelia Rogers, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Arkadelphia didn't have too much trouble with Hot Springs at home on Tuesday as they won 49-32. Given Arkadelphia's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Hot Springs is ranked 183rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lakeside now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Arkadelphia, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Lakeside was able to grind out a solid win over Arkadelphia when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 67-60. Will Lakeside repeat their success, or does Arkadelphia have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
