Even though the James Kenan Tigers have not done well against the Clinton Dark Horses recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. James Kenan took down Clinton 41-26. This was payback for James Kenan, who suffered a 49-43 defeat the last time these two teams met.
James Kenan got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lillie Kornegay out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. Kornegay hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Y'Anna Rivers, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
James Kenan now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Clinton, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
James Kenan will head out on the road to challenge Southwest Onslow at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Onslow is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Clinton, they will be playing at home against Red Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Springs is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
