It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Matanzas Pirates can now relate to. They fell to the Bears  68-64. Matanzas has struggled against Winter Springs recently, as their  contest on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
 Matanzas' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Alexander Davis, who  dropped  a double-double on 20 points and 14  rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points  Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Henry Robinson Jr., who  scored 24 points.
 Matanzas' defeat dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Winter Springs, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
 Matanzas does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winter Springs, they will square off against Oviedo at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Winter Springs will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 206th, while Oviedo is ranked 32nd).
