Basketball Recap: Shorecrest Has No Trouble Against Mercer Island

Shorecrest won the last time they faced Mercer Island and things went their way on Monday too. Everything went the Shorecrest Scots' way against the Mercer Island Islanders as the Shorecrest Scots made off with a 66-45 win. The Scots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 21 points or more this season.

Several Islanders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elianna Weiss, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Izzy Russell, who earned 11 points.

The victory got Shorecrest back to even at 5-5. As for Mercer Island, they moved to 3-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Shorecrest will venture away from home to face off against Edmonds-Woodway at 7:15 p.m. on January 8th. As for Mercer Island, they will host Kentlake at 7:15 p.m. on January 8th.
