The Cumberland Valley Eagles won the last time they faced the Carlisle Thundering Herd, and things went their way on Friday too. Cumberland Valley came out on top against Carlisle by a score of 61-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cumberland Valley.
Cumberland Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nolan Buzalka led the charge by scoring 15 points along with nine rebounds. The match was Buzalka's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Creston Austin, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
Cumberland Valley now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Carlisle, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cumberland Valley will challenge Chambersburg at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chambersburg knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Cumberland Valley likes a good challenge. As for Carlisle, they will head out on the road to face off against Central Dauphin East at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Dauphin East will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 429th, while Carlisle is ranked 37th).
