The Pender Pendragons put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat South Sioux City 60-32 on the road. Considering Pender has won ten matchups by more than 24 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Pender's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maya Dolliver, who scored 18 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dolliver has scored at least 25% of Pender's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Wegner, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
South Sioux City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooklyn Heineman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Heineman's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Bryleigh Robinette, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Pender's victory bumped their record up to 12-0. As for South Sioux City, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Pender and Lyons-Decatur Northeast will face off on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Lyons-Decatur Northeast is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for South Sioux City, they will head out on the road to face off against Norfolk on Saturday.
