The Rockledge Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They lost to Vero Beach on the road by a decisive 48-33 margin. Rockledge has not had much luck with Vero Beach recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Rockledge still got an impressive performance from Jaida Williams-Goins, who scored 21 points along with five steals. That was a full 63.6% of Rockledge's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Rockledge struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Rockledge bumped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Vero Beach, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockledge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Eau Gallie at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Vero Beach, Vero Beach and Merritt Island Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
