The McCook Bison took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against Valentine by a score of 43-35. That's another feather in the cap for McCook, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Valentine still got an impressive performance from Kinsey Buechle, who scored 14 points along with 9 steals and 7 rebounds. Buechle scored a full 40% of Valentine's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
McCook's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Valentine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
McCook will take on Norton at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Norton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. As for Valentine, they will head out on the road to face off against Mullen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
