The Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Airport Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gray Collegiate Academy has three straight wins, Airport has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Gray Collegiate Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Brookland-Cayce 56-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the War Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Bearcats are ranked 111th).

Xavier Wright had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 135 yards and two TDs on only nine passes. Corey Gleaton was in the mix as well, providing Gray Collegiate Academy with two scores.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Gray Collegiate Academy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Michael Boulware, Kaleb Holmes, and Dawson Peek, who each picked up one sack apiece. Boulware was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 27 total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Gray Collegiate Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Gleaton, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Airport scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a blow against Midland Valley, falling 63-26.
Airport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Gray Collegiate Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
