Boothbay hasn't had much luck against Lisbon recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Seahawks are taking a road trip to take on the Greyhounds at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Boothbay's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Winslow 10-0. Considering the Seahawks' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Liam Jacobs
Liam Jacobs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Boothbay is 2-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 0-3 otherwise. Jacobs was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Sam Markowitz was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Shawn Gamage was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Boothbay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lisbon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Raiders.
Like Boothbay, Lisbon also got a great game from a two-way player: JT Hoyle. Throwing, Hoyle tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Cody Osmond kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Hoyle got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while Osmond got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Lisbon let Jacoby Tuplin and Brayden Decato run wild. Tuplin got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Decato got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Lisbon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Boothbay, their record now sits at 2-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Boothbay has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lisbon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 12.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Boothbay suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Lisbon when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
