Culver City is 7-1 against Santa Monica since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Culver City Centaurs will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Monica Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Culver City is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Monica in California (Culver City is ranked 112th, while Santa Monica is ranked 295th).
Culver City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Palos Verdes by a score of 34-31. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Sammy Silvia put forth a good effort for the losing side as he threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns. Myles Singleton also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Santa Monica was the victim of a rough 28-7 defeat at the hands of Redondo Union on Friday. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The losses dropped both teams to an identical 6-3.
Everything came up roses for Culver City against Santa Monica in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 28-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Culver City since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
