Volleyball Recap: Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Fabens Wildcats. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Glory Spratt had 25 digs. Spratt is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 21 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Ontiveros Trinity also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Fabens, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record.

Young Women's STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy has already played their next matchup (against Harmony School of Innovation), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fabens, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Clint on the 16th.
