AUBURN, Wash. - After five lead changes,
Auburn Riverside (Auburn, Wash.) took the lead for the win when
Joey Galeno ran for a touchdown with 6:00 to go in the fourth quarter and held on to upset
Tahoma (Kent, Wash.) 49-35 on Saturday.
The Bears pulled ahead on a rushing touchdown, and subsequently went into halftime leading 28-21. The Ravens scored the winning points with a Galeno touchdown run that came in the fourth quarter.
Despite scoring 13 points in the third, Auburn Riverside still trailed by six points going into the fourth quarter. But 14 points in the fourth helped AR pull out the victory.
The victory was a completely different match up compared to last season's game between these two teams, which Tahoma took, 42-19.
The loss ended Tahoma's two-game winning streak.
Auburn Riverside (3-0) goes up against Kentlake in a 4A South Puget Sound - North game matchup next week, while Tahoma (2-1) locks horns with Mt. Rainier also in a 4A South Puget Sound - North game.
