Mar Vista's Landon Oconnell recorded the longest rushing play in Metro - South Bay this season in his game against Southwest last week. Oconnell's team defeated the Raiders as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 152 in all.
Mar Vista extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Southwest, 63-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the Brian Hay's team.
Landon Clark and Jimmie Hill gave the Mariners a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Clark threw for six yards and two touchdowns, while Hill ran for 153 yards.
Sergio Vidrio was the best wideout in the league this week as Hilltop topped San Ysidro. Vidrio racked up one reception for 19 yards. Sergio Martinez helped Hilltop's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
Frank Paredes' team's Dominic Villamor and Chistopher (Chris) Martinez have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Metro - South Bay in both passing and receiving yards. Villamor has thrown for 1369 yards this season, while Martinez, a 5-foot-6 receiver, has 35 catches for 512 yards. Clark from Mar Vista leads the league in rushing with 808 yards.
