AA Region 3 recap October 8, 2013
Laney scaled the state rankings by moving to 140 from 195 this week, the biggest jump in AA Region 3. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Screven County 33-6.
Dublin added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating East Laurens, 41-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Fighting Irish.
The Gamecocks' Rashad Hughley and Desmond White led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hughley has thrown for 591 yards this season, while White has 17 catches for 228 yards. Harlem's AUSTIN BURT leads the league in rushing yards with 614.
A big matchup in AA Region 3 this week will be when Laney takes on Westside. At the moment, Eric Parker's team is in fourth, while the Patriots are in first.
The Wildcats made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,544 from 5,046. The advance stemmed from a 33-6 victory over Screven County last week.
