Ponaganset saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maia Salvo, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prout, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Westerly 6-5.
Lily Sheehan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emma Manzo was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Dias, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Prout pushed their record up to 9-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Ponaganset, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.
