After three games on the road, Del Oro is heading back home. They will take on the Mira Monte Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Del Oro has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Del Oro pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Foothill by a score of 70-68. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (58), Del Oro still had to take the loss.
Despite their defeat, Del Oro saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Keenan Starling, who scored 17 points, was perhaps the best of all. Josue Lopez-Perez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Mira Monte took a serious blow against the Stars on Tuesday, falling 63-22. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mira Monte has scored all season.
Del Oro's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-21. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for Mira Monte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.
Del Oro was taken down by the Lions 90-53 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Del Oro have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
