With a playoff win on the line, Hiland rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Newcomerstown Trojans. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Hiland's sixth in a row) raised their record to 25-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Newcomerstown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.

Coming up, Hiland will take on Garaway at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 1.4, the Pirates 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Newcomerstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
