Richland is 2-8 against the Mustangs since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Richland Royals will head out on the road to take on the Grapevine Mustangs at 5:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Friday, Richland had to suffer through a rough 55-26 loss at the hands of the Raiders. While losing is never fun, Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 714th, while the Raiders are ranked 71st).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Bree Hartfiel, who scored six points. Another player making a difference was Luna Palacios garza, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-25, which was the final score in Grapevine's tilt against the Eagles on Friday. Grapevine has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their contest on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Richland's loss dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Grapevine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season.
