Baseball Recap: Hunt Wins Going Away Against Southern Wayne

Hunt barely beat Southern Wayne the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Warriors blew past the Saints 10-2 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Will Doll was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Zach Taylor, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Hunt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive matchups.

Hunt's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Southern Wayne, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hunt will challenge rival C.B. Aycock at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Southern Wayne is set to square off against their familiar foe Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
