A Season-Best Performance from Kleat Martens Leads Hooker over Fairview
Hooker was led to victory by Kleat Martens, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Martens rushed for 168 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, and also threw for 34 yards and a touchdown. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards.
If the past is any indication, Martens could be in store for another big game when he takes on Merritt on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Martens saw the Oilers), he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

Justin Palacios Dazzles in Hooker Win
Hooker picked up their sixth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Justin Palacios. Fairview had no answer to Palacios as he rushed for 167 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 88 yards.
Palacios is probably looking forward to his next game, a road matchup against Merritt on Friday. When Palacios last faced the Oilers back in October of 2023, he rushed for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Watonga Gets a Boost from Estep in 36-13 Defeat
Watonga was sadly handed a defeat on Thursday, but Kelan Estep did his best to prevent it. Sayre had no answer to Estep as he threw for 219 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Watonga is on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7. Estep and Watonga will square off against Crescent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Dayson Cash continued his hot streak on Thursday by dropping his 11th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He forced a fumble and made 21 total tackles.
For the year, Cash has averaged 15.1 total tackles per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 6.29 total tackles per game.
