Premont's2023 ended with a 65-51 defeat against Raymondville on Thursday. Premont has struggled against Raymondville recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Colt Cavazos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Raymondville, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Slevin Gutierrez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Premont has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Raymondville, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-15.
