Basketball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Forest Hills' Third in Last Four Outings

Porter Ridge came into Saturday's contest looking for another win against Forest Hills, but Landon Blakeney wouldn't allow it. The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets blew past the Porter Ridge Pirates 82-58 on Saturday thanks in part to Blakeney, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Winnegan, who went 9 of 16 on his way to 19 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games.

When it comes to explaining why Porter Ridge lost, don't look at Reid Johannes. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Brayden Payne, who posted nine points and five assists.

Forest Hills has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Porter Ridge, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Forest Hills didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-55 defeat against Harding University on the 30th. As for Porter Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-53 victory against Berry on the 30th.
