The Brillion Lions will be taking part in a tournament against the Omro Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brillion will be strutting in after a victory while Omro will be coming in after a defeat.
Brillion barely beat Manitowoc Lutheran the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Lions put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 9-3 win on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chase Braun was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Brillion: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-8 otherwise. Braun was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hayden Cousin, who went 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Brillion is undefeated when Cousin posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise.
Oconto hit Omro with a seven-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Foxes lost 10-2 to the Blue Devils. The Foxes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Omro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Loker, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Loker has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Gage Stojakovic also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Omro's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Brillion, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Brillion has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Omro struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Brillion was able to grind out a solid victory over Omro when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 6-3. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Foxes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
