Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Marked Tree). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Izard County Cougars 58-6. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Despite the defeat, Izard County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Benaiah Spray picked up 89 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 47 yards. Spray showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 67 yards.
Marked Tree's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points over those games. As for Izard County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.
