Windthorst is 7-2 against Archer City since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Windthorst Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Archer City Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. Windthorst is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Friday, Windthorst beat Seymour 55-46. The victory was just what Windthorst needed coming off of a 51-27 loss in their prior game.
While Archer City couldn't quite beat Petrolia on Friday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 39-point loss they were dealt on Tuesday. Archer City fell just short of Petrolia by a score of 35-33. Archer City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Serenity Jones, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Malia Jones was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 11 rebounds.
Windthorst is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Archer City, they now have a losing record at 12-13.
Everything came up roses for Windthorst against Archer City in their previous matchup on January 5th as the team secured a 71-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Windthorst since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
