Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Holmes County Central). They walked away with a 67-56 win over the Gentry Rams on Tuesday. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Rams are ranked 160th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Holmes County Central's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Gentry, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Holmes County Central will challenge Yazoo City at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Gentry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.4 points per game this season.
