Manchester has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Bloomfield Warhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomfield took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Manchester, who comes in off a win.
Manchester posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Enfield 51-48.
Manchester's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tiara Tyson led the charge by scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Tyson has scored at least a third of Manchester's points. Another player making a difference was Elise Ryan, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Bloomfield, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Hartford on Monday. The loss was just more heartbreak for Bloomfield who fell 55-53 when the teams previously met back in January of 2018.
Manchester's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. As for Bloomfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Everything came up roses for Manchester against Bloomfield in their previous matchup back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 60-24 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Manchester since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
