The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves will take on the Park Vista Cobras at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Oxbridge Academy 4, Park Vista 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Oxbridge Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Lake Placid on Friday as Oxbridge Academy made off with a 16-7 win. The ThunderWolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by nine runs or more this season.
Aby Vital was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Vital was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Ila Trueblood was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Bianco, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her six plate appearances.
Oxbridge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Park Vista's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Friday. They came up short against Doral Academy, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cobras were not able to get on the board.
Park Vista saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Golas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Oxbridge Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Park Vista fell to 6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Oxbridge Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Park Vista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Oxbridge Academy came up short against Park Vista in their previous matchup back in March of 2020, falling 7-2. Will Oxbridge Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
