The Westampton Tech Panthers will square off against the Pemberton Hornets at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Westampton Tech has six straight wins, Pemberton has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Westampton Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Willingboro on Thursday as they made off with a 20-8 victory. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.

Jael Espinal Sanchez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those six stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Austin Mochernuk was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Carter Venetz was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Westampton Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .551. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Pemberton's offense. They came up short against Riverside last Wednesday, falling 13-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Hornets were not able to get on the board.
Westampton Tech's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Pemberton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Westampton Tech took their victory against Pemberton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-7 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
