River Forest never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Lake Station Edison Fighting Eagles with a sharp 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Ingots, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.

Brandon Fergerson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Walter Jaime and Levi Harper did most of the damage at the plate: Jaime got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Harper went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Jaime has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ellis Gorham, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

River Forest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lake Station Edison only posted an OBP of .211.

River Forest's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Station Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Coincidentally, River Forest and Lake Station Edison will both be playing Westville the next time they take the field. The Ingots will host the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Fighting Eagles will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
